This Is the Best Cupcake in the Bay Slash World

CupCakin Bake Shop in Berkeley and Oakland makes the best cupcake in the East Bay, nay, the planet. I’m comfortable making that kind of bold proclamation after realizing how much research I have done into the category over the years, including judging multiple cupcake battles that required ingesting way too many at once.

I first learned about the shop back in 2016 when I wrote about their then-weekly practice of making Drake cakes for Bravo TV. Then they were kind enough to send me a box of non-Champagne Papi delights, an assortment which included that aforementioned best cupcake on the planet: key lime!

The combination of fine graham crumb crust, fluffy cupcake, tart key lime frosting and lime zest is honestly the only cupcake I need in life — though I am, of course, open to challengers.
