Try Not to Eat These Porto's Photos
PHOTOS BY TAMARA PALMER
Southern California’s pre-eminent Cuban bakery Porto’s changed everything when they started offering nationwide shipping of frozen, unbaked versions of some of their most coveted pastries, but visiting one of their locations in person is still a most rewarding experience both to take advantage of their hot food cafe options as well as the positive visual stimulation of seeing their entire high quality and high value sweets collection presented in the cases. Here are some highlights I’ve photographed over the last few visits (a frequent tradition on the way out of town):
Cheese rolls
Potato balls
Dulce de leche besitos
Mango empanadas
Ojos de tigre
Glazed coconuts
Quesadillas
Pork tamales
Guava cheese danish, cheese rolls, dulce de leche besitos
Cheese rolls, ojos de tigre, dulce de leche besitos, mango and pineapple empanadas
