The Superfood Edibles Takeover

The Superfood Edibles Takeover

BY TAMARA PALMER

I can always count on Lady Chatterley to stay informed about innovative Bay Area edibles, and through them I have learned about a new health product that should smartly open up a whole new lane of business: Dragonglass Flake and Bake by San Francisco’s Spirulinex. It’s a combination of organic spirulina, cannabis extraction and organic dried spearmint leaf presented in small flake form with a tiny spoon.

California companies are starting to clue into the idea of presenting an edible product meant to be taken sublingually (under the tongue), which allows for quicker absorption into the body; effects can be felt within about 10-20 minutes of consumption, as opposed to 45 minutes or an hour for a typical edible. Not only does it save a lot of sugar, gluten and calories, it saves a lot of time spent experimenting with edibles to the detriment of your body.

The Dragonglass Flake and Bake is recommended to be taken sublingually, but can also be used as a sprinkle on food; a level spoonful contains approximately 7.5 mg of THC from a sativa dominant hybrid plant. The mint provides a somewhat neutralizing foil for the bitter spirulina and cannabis flavors, and the uplifting effects are noticeable even for someone with a high tolerance.

Superfood, indeed.
