I am not a person with a personal caviar budget, but it’s an unexpected perk of my research that I get a lot of invitations to try restaurants that offer caviar service or dishes with caviar. So incredible is my luck that a now-shuttered restaurant that had two Michelin stars once invited me to sample three elaborate caviar presentations on a day when the place wasn’t even open. Since I wrote about the Double Happiness Meal today in honor of July 18’s National Caviar Day, I created this photo set of best caviar presentations I’ve experienced in California.
