My Repeat Camera Roll Food Offenders

BY TAMARA PALMER

As a food writer, I always want to try new places and eat dishes I haven’t had before. But I’m also easily hooked on foods that light up my brain, and I often find myself making plans to eat somewhere or something again while I’m still holding my utensils.

I live in the Bay Area and spend a lot of time in Los Angeles, and I have (too) many camera roll repeat offenders in both places. Here are some of my favorites.

San Francisco

Steamed charcoal and bamboo sponge roll at Dragon Beaux

Garlic shrimp burrito at Al Pastor Papi

Chocolate soba-ko cookies at Breadbelly

Vegan po’boy at Brenda’s French Soul Food

Dungeness crab Louie at Original Joe’s of Westlake

Quesabirria taco by Tacos El Patron

Turmeric fried catfish sandwich at Lily

Local fish and chips at Hook Fish Co.

Sweet and sour cauliflower by Mamahuhu

Pass The Dutchie (yam, fried asparagus and fried onions) at Vegan Sancha Sushi

Los Angeles

Tortellini in 36-month aged Parmigiano-Reggiano at Gucci Osteria da Massimo Bottura, Beverly Hills
