People Are Freaking Out About These Garage Tacos

Tablehopper and I got up early a few weekends ago to visit a driveway in Richmond that has been drawing people from all over the Bay Area. It’s called El Garage, to be specific, and it’s a certified sensation.

El Garage offers Tijuana-style beef birria and quesabirria tacos and consomé, which have been exploding in popularity in Los Angeles. In the Bay Area, El Garage and the La Santa Torta food truck are starting to spur similar buzz.

Check out their Instagram Stories early each weekend morning to find the exact address, and don’t forget to bring cash (though Venmo is accepted as well) and patience for a potential line. They often sell out early in the afternoon, so make plans to do it up for breakfast.

El Garage plans to operate a food truck in the near future and we will be stalking it.
