Drive-Thru Birria Comes to California

My IG feed tells me that it’s been 59 weeks since I got to eat the deluxe plate at Teddy’s Red Tacos in Venice, but I can still recall the tear that came to my eye as I sat on the “secret” patio alone and took my first bite of Tijuana-style birria de res and sip of beef consomé. Teddy’s began life as a food truck (which still operates on E. Slauson Ave.) and has just opened a third brick and mortar location at 7665 Firestone Avenue in Downey — and there’s a drive-thru!
Southern California, have a few tacos for me!
